Comment:

 After days of testing, we cannot replicate this here.  We've even let
 systems run Sugar all night long, and the trackpad was instantly alive the
 next morning.  We'll certainly continue to keep our eyes open in case this
 ever repeats, but this works on multiple units here.  I'm going to close
 this as "works for me" - if anyone else is able to replicate this, please
 let us know by reopening this bug!
