 Talking to Jordan.   Few issues here:
 o This only can tell if the DCON is there, not if we want to use the panel
 mode.
   Because you can use a CRT with DCON attached and you want a sane mode
 there.
 Suggestion is to use the above technique along with a kernel command line
 "usecr
 t" which the script which does the check can look for if someone wants to
 hook a
  crt up to a b-test board.
 o Jordan has some ideas about doing this through the VSA and the amd
 driver whic
 h he can explain.
 o We could read NVRAM from inside the X driver
 o We could just read the drivers from the script, but this is
 inconsistent.
 o Mitch should probably set the mode in the BIOS, based on the following
 test in
  any case:
 if (jumper == flat panel && dcon is on the smbus)
     1200x900
   else
     1024x768
