 A suggestion: The next time this happens, can you do some poking with FS2?
 Try and read msr 0, and then go out from there: MBIU1, then the ROM. If
 you can get to all of that, "halt", and figure out what is going on. FS2
 is the best tool for this sort of problem.

 If you unable to read msr 0, there is still something weird going on with
 power, reset or clocks; the jtag block is pretty solid, and you should be
 able to get msr 0 if the sequence is ok.
