New description:

 When I boot from the internal NAND flash, I see udev timeouts at boot and
 the wireless device constantly appearing and disappearing from the bus (as
 mentioned in the second comment in ticket 278).

 This may well be a hardware issue -- I don't see why the software should
 cause this.

 There exists a _possibility_ that I only saw this when trying to use the
 new driver with the old boot2 firmware (cf. ticket 285) but I think I've
 seen it even with new boot firmware. Will confirm in the morning and
 provide USB traces of the observed behaviour.
