 Note that this only fails on Mitch's board on port 2, but we have also
 seen this happen on port 0 on another board, and on all ports of a third
 board.

 After investigation, Mitch found that reads from the Cruzer were
 generating errors on some system+port combinations, and has improved the
 OFW code to continue in the presence of the unusual handshaking of this
 device. Nonetheless, the underlying errors, while now masked, do continue
 to occur.  The cause of these errors is as yet unknown.
