Re #4: why? There are currently different kernels and different initrd
on the different images - in fact the jffs2 image currently doesn't have
an initrd.img - so why can't we have a specific olpc-boot.fth ?
Having a single "knows all" file is bad architecture. Each configuration
should know about itself, without being responsible for all other
configurations. Otherwise things quickly deteriorate to "unmaintainable",
because changes propagate to places they don't need to go to.
