 David has a link to the olpc start script.  For reference purposes:

 He's added this sleep:

 /sbin/udevsettle --timeout=30
 echo Sleeping for 10 seconds after udevsettle...
 /bin/sleep 10
 echo slept.

 But other than that it's the same as the original script.
