Comment:

 1.3.10 also has an optimization for rectangle drawing, which I think the
 TamTam folks may be hitting, from discussions I had with them when they
 were in Cambridge.  It merely makes a factor of 25(!) difference for that
 operation.

 I'm running it without issue on my laptop.
