#635: OFW should spit out errors if partition type doesn't match filesystem type
---------------------------------+------------------------------------------

     Type: defect | Status: new
 Priority: normal | Milestone: Untriaged
Component: ofw - open firmware | Keywords:
---------------------------------+------------------------------------------
If one has disk partition w/ a linux type (type 83), but has it formatted
for vfat, OFW will ignore it and boot up whatever else it can find. This
ends up being incredibly confusing when you pop in a usb disk and wonder
why OFW continues to boot off nand. I realize that we don't want OFW to
have to detect partitions based on magic bits in the filesystem, but it
would be *much* more helpful if OFW actually spit out an error in this
instance. That is, when OFW attempts to boot off a partition and
discovers that the partition type doesn't match the filesystem, rather
than silently ignoring it, spit out an error about the mismatch (and
possibly refuse to continue booting without user intervention).
