Comment:

 I think the volume keys are sufficient for performing this task, but I
 also think we should make it possible to do in software.  The latest
 designs surrounding internal and external devices seem apt to handling
 this kind of thing (it also handles the built-in mic and camera, which
 have similar status on the laptop.)  I think we should explore this
 direction:
