We just got our hardware today.
I can not update the machine as per
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Autoreinstallation_image
keyboard has non-functional a ,z ,e, d,c keys
None of the work arounds(as describe in above link) work as the open
firmware prompt can't use a usb keyboard and I can't boot the patch from
the usb drives I've tried.
The failures occur on every boot so far ,rebooted multiple(10+).
Due keyboard error I can not check usb devices.
OLPC B-test, 247 MB Memory Installed

a BTest system. The upgrade procedure is really quite reliable, if the
files are in the proper place. You may have the "mass_storage/removable"
problem described in the autoreinstallation

Also tried the work around for usb device(mass storage/removable problem)
and it does not work.
It starts to load, then reboots after a couple of seconds.
At least now most of the keyboard is working.
I had tried resetting the laptop and left it with the battery out
overnight but those keys were still not working. They started working
after trying the update usb work around.
Now have working usb keyboard. Apple keyboards work, Dell keyboards don't
, hceap usb keyboards do.

problem.

Still couldn't do the upgrade.(see above)

probably has trouble. Lindsay Petrillose can help with logistics on a
replacement; we'll likely ask for its return for failure analysis.
