 Actually, the reason (right now) is that there weren't any BTest boards
 available at the flat panel manufacturer to screen the screens before
 shipment to Quanta: to do a real test of the screen you need
 to have hardware to drive it...

 So more defects were present in the build as a result of the inability
 to do testing until the units were assembled.

 We are considering allowing a few bad pixels as a cost measure: it does up
 the yield if you don't require perfection.
