 We have this unit at Cambridge now.  Mitch and I were able to talk to OFW
 on it using ethernet (with the screen still all-white) and found that we
 could talj to it on SMBUS and control the backlight, etc, but nothing we
 can do from software is changing the video image.

 Next step is to disassemble and see whether the flex cable came out.
