 Note that I've now seen this on two separate xo-1 machines (not including
 chris's).  After unplugging the battery and ac adapter and letting it sit,
 it goes away.  I'm wondering if it's related to the static issue, or it's
 a plain old EC bug.  It's quite hard to reproduce.  Naturally, when it
 happens the keyboard is unusable.

 There are two separate issues here; the first is i8042_command(&i8042_ctr,
 I8042_CMD_CTL_RCTR) is failing; this is most likely some sort of EC issue.
 The second issue is that linux keeps reloading the module after it fails.
 Both of these need fixing.
