Antes de mais nada, obrigado pelas boas vindas de todos.
Como a maior parte das discussões estão em Português, mas nem todos
entendem, vou tentar manter as duas línguas por enquanto, tanto para manter
a discussão com quem não entende, quanto para poder ser melhor entendido
quando falhar no inglês.
Após a palestra do James Gettys a visão sobre o projeto ficou bem diferente,
com explicações até mesmo sobre o porque dele ser tão diferente visualmente,
ou o porque da manivela etc.
Sobre como pretendo estar envolvido, me parece que ainda há uma certa
necessidade na questão de softwares. Como trabalho com desenvolvimento de
aplicativos de comunicação Web (basicamente tecnologia LAMP) pensei em como
poderia desenvolver alguma forma de comunicação entre os professores e
alunos.
A minha idéia necessitaria de vários estudos que envolvem outros órgãos, mas
esclarecendo melhor:
- o Brasil, hoje conta com material didático que é passado em parte
das escolas públicas em forma impressa, e repassado aos alunos do ano
seguinte.
- O custo de impressão é bem maior do que a distribuição digital;
- A Google é parceira do projeto, e será que não poderia estar
auxiliando com a digitalização desse material da mesma forma que elas
utilizam o Google Print?
- O equipamento do OLPC tem o objetivo de ser um e-book com acesso a
rede wireless;
- Imagino que nas escolas vai terá essa rede disponível (seja
responsabilidade da OLPC ou dos Governos);
- Meu plano é um sistema interligado ao governo federal para
disponibilizar essa biblioteca digital às escolas;
- Permitir aos professores controlar a disponibilização (ou
referenciar) do material para suas aulas e estudos, gradativamente. Ou
então, ter algum acompanhamento dos estudos dos alunos;
Isso é uma idéia básica ainda a ser amadurecida sobre o seu desenvolvimento.
Claro que envolve não apenas aspectos técnicos e políticos, mas problemas
educacionais. Eu não sou da área de educação. Isso envolve, também, uma
transformação cultural tão grande nos professores, por isso poderia ser um
projeto futuro, após várias pessoas estarem utilizando o computador e os
novos problemas terem aparecido.
Mas acho que dá para começar algumas discussões. O que existe hoje sobre os
softwares para o laptop? Eu vi uma referência para algo chamado Butterfly
nos links que me passaram sobre o andamento das discussões (que por sinal
mais 'escaniei' do que li), mas não encontrei referência sobre ele.

too, a great cultural transformation to the teachers, because that may be a
future project, after a lot of people is using the computer and the new

about software to the laptop? I saw, by a glance, about something called
'Butterfly', in the links passed to me (by the way I most 'scanned' them
read), but didn't find any link about him.*
