[laptop-accessibility] Windows XP, XO-2 keyboard and news about progress?

        Hello everyone,

    I have some questions:
If a modyfied version of Windows XP could run the XO, does that mean, the
open source screen reader NVDA could run on the XO as well? I am surely not
a Windows fan but, in my opinion, every possibility to access this device
and it's software should be appreciated. Are more implications for
accessibility imaginable?

I heard that the XO-2 will perhaps have two touch screens, but just a
virtual instead of a real keyboard. If this information is correct, some
groups of users such as blind children could only use the device with an
external keyboard. The keys of the XO-1 are very small and for that reason
an external keyboard could be a good solution for many users. Do you know if
someone is already working on a external keyboard which follows the OLPC
design rules?

My last question is for Hemant and all other workers on speech synthesis and
screen reader adaption. I would like to learn about the progress of your
work. Are there any news to spread? For example, what problems do you have
at the moment?

All you active developers do a very important job! I wish you success!

Best, Per
