Hello,

The Oralux Live CD included three text based solutions for the  GNU/Linux
blind users: Speakup (kernel patch), Yasr, Emacspeak.

There are also other text-based screen readers such as SBL (SuSE Blind
Linux) which will be included in the forthcoming Adriane Knoppix Live CD:

Regarding the multi language voice synthesizer, an excellent solution, as
you know well, is eSpeak: http://espeak.sf.net .

It would be interesting firstly to evaluate if some of these softwares can
run on XO.

My free time is on OpenMoko; I would be glad to contribute to the
evaluation if it can be helpful.
